Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Process1. Identify all the energy sources using the map one-line on the mimic control panel.2. Check to make sure voltage at each source IS present.3. Open all source circuit breakers for the particular need.4. Rack out source circuit breakers with built-in motorized racking.5. Ensure voltage at each source IS NOT present.6. Close the ground switch.7. Verify closed ground switch through the swithgear window.8. Lock the key from keyswitch in the lockout key box.9. Check ground switch status through viewing window.
BENEFITSSAFER - Operating and performing maintenance from a safe distance(No need to suit up for LOTO)PROTECTION - during more maintenanceevents than even arc resistant switchgear**Suiting up is still necessary for maintenance issues where accessing live gear is required. FASTER - Reduced LOTO time to ~3minScenario A: move the relays and controls outside the arc flash zone, add built-in motorized racking, remote temperature sensing, andremote operated grounding switches
